Alan Segal

Alan J. Segal has been a working musician and student of music for the last 27 years. In real life he was an investment banker, business consultant, stock broker and CPA.

After brain surgery in December of 2006 he “retired” to helping people plan for retirement, still a licensed CPA, having earned his MST as well as CSMC in prior years.

He has played with the area’s leading rock & roll groups and country bands, including Jim Six and the City Limits and the Marie Lallie Band. He formed the Jack Alan Band (twelve piece country band), which toured the tri-state area in the late 80’s. In the late 80’s

Alan also served as a producer for several aspiring bands and vocalists in a partnership with Queen Village Recording.

The Alan Segal Quartet was born from the idea of playing jazz (his passion) and bringing jazz to houses of worship resulting in the Jazz & Joe program. The Jazz Sanctuary, Inc. (a 501 c 3 charitable organization), brings jazz to the public in public venues. Alan serves as the Executive Director of The Jazz Sanctuary, Inc. donating his time and energy to help energize the only true American musical invention, jazz, help train musicians in the musical art form and participates in the Alan Segal Quartet as its bassist.
