South Jersey Federal Credit Union, originally known as the “Industrial Union of Marine and Shipbuilding Workers of America Federal Credit Union,” was established and chartered in 1940, The credit union came into being to provide financial service to the employees of the New York Shipbuilding Company in Camden. Now, it has been providing financial products and services to our members for more than 70 years. In 1979, to reflect an ever-broadening membership, the credit union changed its name to South Jersey Federal Credit Union.

 

Today, South Jersey Federal Credit Union has more than 42,500 members comprising a number of communities in southern New Jersey, as well as nearly 500 Employee Groups whose workers are eligible for membership.

SJFCU has over 100 dedicated and service-oriented employees throughout its footprint in South Jersey, and has assets of more than $300 million. We have six full-service branch locations including our headquarters Deptford branch and branches in Camden, Voorhees, Moorestown, Vineland and Pleasantville, as well as a satellite branch in Woodbridge.

 

Our mission is to provide enriching financial services to our membership and community, and to do so with the utmost courtesy, professionalism and integrity, with the stability that comes from serving generations.

 

As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, SJFCU is owned and governed by its members. Our members share a common bond of employment and/or community.
